Set It Free—Getting Your Manuscript Ready For the World

October 7, 2017 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm MDT

$75

You’ve spent months or years writing your novel or memoir. You’ve written and revised and revised some more. Now all you need is for that perfect agent or editor to fall in love with your writing. But how can you be sure your work is ready for submission? We’ll talk about how to determine if your work fulfills its promise to the reader and explore practical strategies for making sure your story is strong enough to stand out from the slush pile. Bring your almost-there manuscript and a willingness to look at your work with a fresh and critical gaze.

(NOTE: Students should feel free to bring their entire manuscript in digital or printed form, but everyone should bring the following: the first chapter or section of the manuscript; one climactic/pivotal scene or chapter; one weak or troublesome scene or chapter; your preferred writing tools.)
